Beaver Lake waters are deep, clean, and clear bringing scuba divers from not only Arkansas, but also Oklahoma, Missouri and Kansas. Beaver Lake is optimal for scuba diving because the water is deep (300 feet in areas) and visibility is great making for interesting sites. On the North side of the lake you can often view the submerged expanse of the lake. There are sunken boats and old cars, but in some areas there are even sunken statues, placed by residents. Many of the popular diving sites are noted on the dive map below.

The most common use of scuba diving in Beaver Lake is for schools. Many groups come to Beaver Lake to practice their diving in order to get a license such as their open water dive or simply brush up on their skills before heading out on vacation. Lost Bridge Marina has a large boat (42 foot pontoon boat) available for half-day and full day rental specifically designed for scuba diving groups. Lost Bridge Marina offers scuba air tank refills for your convenience.

One place in Beaver Lake that is very popular for scuba diving is The Old Foundation although it’s not in a very visible spot for divers. It once was a world-class resort built in the 1800s that had the world’s two biggest hotels at the time. On days when the lake is low, visitors can still see the foundations of the resort, the large bridges and sometimes the resort’s amphitheater.
